Sakina Wellbeing operates the Sakina pregnancy companion app (“the App”) and this website at sakinawellbeing.com (“the Site”). Contact us at hello@sakinawellbeing.com.
What data we collect and why
Data you provide
- Email address — when you create an account, used for authentication.
- Pregnancy information — due date, pregnancy type — to personalise your experience.
- Health tracking data — kicks, contractions, symptoms, weight, mood, water intake — to provide tracking features.
- Journal entries — text you write — stored privately for your use.
- Appointment details — to provide reminders.
Data collected automatically
- Device location — only when you grant permission, used solely to calculate prayer times and Ramadan suhoor/iftar times. Never stored on our servers.
- App performance data — anonymous crash reports to improve stability. No personal data included.
How we store your data
- By default, all data is stored locally on your device only.
- If you choose to create an account, your data is backed up to Supabase (supabase.com), a secure cloud database hosted in the EU. See Supabase’s privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
- We do not use advertising networks. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in this policy.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are in many countries or EU, you have the right to:
- Access your data — use the “Export my data” feature in the app.
- Correct your data — edit your profile in the app.
- Delete your data — use the “Delete account” feature in the app, which permanently erases all data.
- Withdraw consent — delete your account at any time.
- Lodge a complaint — with the Information Commissioner’s Office (UK) at ico.org.uk.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. On account deletion, all data is permanently erased within 30 days.
Children
Sakina is not for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice.
