Transliteration

Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika mina l-hammi wa-l-ḥazani wa-l-ʿajzi wa-l-kasali wa-l-bukhli wa-l-jubni wa-ḍalaʿi d-dayni wa-ghalabati r-rijāl

English meaning

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and grief, from inability and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, from the burden of debt and being overpowered by men.

When to recite

The Prophet ﷺ taught this dua for worry and grief. Recite it when antenatal anxiety hits hard: after distressing news, on the way to an extra scan, in the long postnatal nights when sleep evaporates. It seeks refuge from the weight of debt and grief, the heaviness of helplessness, and the shadow of fear — covering most of motherhood’s emotional burdens.
