Transliteration

Uʿīdhukumā bi-kalimāti-llāhi t-tāmmati min kulli shayṭānin wa-hāmmatin wa-min kulli ʿaynin lāmmah

English meaning

I seek protection for you both in the perfect words of Allah from every devil, harmful creature, and from every evil eye.

When to recite

This is the dua the Prophet ﷺ used to seek refuge for Hasan and Husayn (RA), and that scholars recommend mothers say over their unborn children. Recite it after Fajr and Maghrib, before you sleep, and any time you feel anxious about your baby’s wellbeing. It is short, easy to memorise, and a beautiful nightly ritual to begin during pregnancy.
