Transliteration
Al-ḥamdu li-llāhi rabbi l-ʿālamīn, ar-raḥmāni r-raḥīm, māliki yawmi d-dīn, iyyāka naʿbudu wa-iyyāka nastaʿīn, ihdinā ṣ-ṣirāṭa l-mustaqīm
English meaning
All praise is for Allah, Lord of all worlds, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgment. You alone we worship and You alone we ask for help. Guide us to the straight path.
When to recite
Al-Fatiha is recited in every rakat of every prayer — but consciously dedicate it to your pregnancy at least once a day. Place a hand on your bump as you say “Guide us to the straight path,” and intend that guidance for your child too. The Prophet ﷺ called it the greatest surah in the Qur’an. There is no better sound for your baby to grow accustomed to.
